Job Description:
Under very limited supervision, performs a variety of ceramics engineering experiments and assignments in work related predominantly to ceramics application to solid-state lighting and high-intensity discharge lighting. Plans and oversees utilization of experimental facilities and department laboratories for ceramics research. Demonstrates ability to seek out and improve experimental conditions through technology. Works closely with other scientific and engineering staff, as well as business units with development activities utilizing ceramics materials. Solves unique and complex technical problems on own initiative without assistance, but is able to ask for help when necessary. Key project contributor. Viewed as location expert in specific functional area.
Requirements:
BS Eng and 4+ years or MS Eng in Ceramic or Materials Science or Engineering. Demonstrated project-related work from non-academic experience or graduate studies research. Excellent written and verbal communication. Willingness to work on several projects, with equal ability to manage such assignments. An understanding in statistical analysis of data is desired. This is a research position with high growth potential for the right talented, enthusiastic, and energetic individual.
