Presently we are seeking candidates to fulfill a Direct Material Productivity (DMP) position, located in Schenectady, NY. This is a 1-year assignment. Individuals must reside within a reasonable distance (30-40 miles) from the job site. Relocation and per diem are not offered.
Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
· Work with and assist Wind Direct Material Productivity (DMP) Project Engineers in performing the following tasks
· Establishing and maintaining project schedules.
· Interacting with Engineering and Sourcing personnel to determine project status relative to anticipated $ savings and project milestones.
· Writing Engineering documents such as Design Change Instructions and Purchase Orders
· Prepare for and participate in tollgate review meetings.
· Interacting with Engineering, Production, Finance and Commercial teams to identify and resolve barriers to successful implementation of DMP projects.
· Take ownership of specific action items at the request of Project Engineers and pursue them to closure.
Qualifications/Requirements:
· Minimum 2 year technology degree with the following skills
· Experience with practical hardware implementation and associated risks
· Excellent communication skills
· Flexibility in handling a diverse and challenging workload
Desired:
· 4 year BS Engineering degree
· Training / experience in Project Leadership & Project Management
· Familiarity with GE processes and tools (DCI, PEGASUS, Events Tracker)
