About the Position
Mechanical Engineering Degree is Required.
1. Product design - new designs and product enhancements for EMD-style diesel engine turbochargers, power assemblies (pistons, heads, liners, etc.), and other engine components.
2. Turbocharger warranties - root cause analysis, coordinating & interpreting metallurgical lab analysis, joint tear-downs with customers.
3. Pro/E modeling (if qualified) - concept designs & layouts, detailed drawings.
4. Reliability improvements - identify high-risk components & processes and support projects to reduce warranty exposure.
5. Productivity projects - reduce costs through improved manufacturing processes, design changes, and new suppliers.
6. Factory support - engineering support to turbochargers (re-manufacturing) and power assemblies (new production). Involved with disassembly, re-qualification, machine & weld shop, assembly, and test operations.
