We are looking for an Applications Engineer who can provide technical support, quotations and timely feedback to customers and sales representatives in regards to new or existing requirements. This position reports to the Technical Business Manager.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical support to customers and the sales force.
Prepare and provide customer specified quotations as required.
Provide back-up technical support to customer service representatives.
Provide telephone support for new customer calls, literature requests, order expedites, sample requests and other sales/marketing requirements.
Prepare EARs and maintain strong technical interface with engineering to assist in defining customer requirements.
Required to make decisions and judgments with respect to technical applications and must stay current with product changes and applications.
Must be able to work effectively with limited supervision while receiving on-going product training.
Errors in judgment in this position could have a negative impact on customer relations resulting in loss of business.
Requirements:
Associate Degree required in a technical discipline
Bachelors Degree preferred
2+ years sales and/or technical support experience with an OEM manufacturer
Good understanding of the Schroff product line would be helpful
Ability to effectively advise customers and reps on technical matters, pricing and procedures
Effective oral and written communication skills a must
Must be able to work effectively with limited supervision
Strong computer skills (proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point and Microsoft Project with understanding of enterprise MRP and data base software)
Proficient technical writing as well as good written and verbal communications skills
Ability to manage and prioritize several concurrent projects
